The Problem with Automation

A lot is made of robots and AI in the movies. We’ve been hearing about robots for years, but now they are finally becoming a part of our daily lives. We already have robots inside of our phones and computers, but will they be in our houses soon?

Well, chances are they already are. Google Homes and Amazon Alexas are invading people’s lives on the daily. They are great AI creations that make all of our daily tasks just a little bit easier. We even have chess champions being defeated by robots and artificial intelligence. But the unfortunate truth is that AI isn’t all rainbow in butterflies. Companies all over the world have chosen to stick with artificial intelligence instead of human work. Actions like these have been paramount at firms that use machines created by companies like Blue Prism.

Conclusion:

Blue Prism has made robots that are able to automate away routine desk jobs like call center work or data management. These robots are able to take jobs and make companies pockets hurt a little less, but this seriously hurts the American economy. We need to find a way for AI and American workers to co-exist in a way that companies can use the robots, while American workers can still find good labor. If we can’t figure out a way to do this, the American economy will continue to be hit by issues created by the automation epidemic.
